Premier Computing, Inc. is a service provider of business computing solutions, primarily driven by the sales and support of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Among the many factors that have contributed to the Company’s success are its long history, its relationship with Microsoft, the technical ability of its staff, and its emphasis on customer service.
Overview and History
Premier computing, Inc. (Premier) is a Utah Corporation originally incorporated in 1952 as All Makes Typewriter Company. In its early years, All Makes specialized in selling and servicing typewriters and other business equipment. In the late 80’s, the personal computer displaced the typewriter as the central piece of office equipment and the company focused on obtaining the expertise necessary to excel in this new market. During this time, Dale and Julie Potter, founded Premier and moved the company in a new direction.
The company specialized in hardware sales and installation, configuring systems and eventually moved into networking services through its association with Novell. In the late 1990s the company was approached by Great Plains Software to represent them in software sales and implementation offerings. During the late 1990s, the margins on computer hardware declined significantly and the company focused more on software sales and related support, becoming the largest Microsoft Gold reseller of enterprise resource planning (ERP) in the region.
Today, Premier’s principal office in Salt Lake City, Utah, provides business computing solutions throughout the western United States, doing approximately 55% of its business in Utah and the remainder throughout the rest of the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
